# Webhooks

Events from your organization to your systems: create an endpoint, verify the signature, understand retries, look up event types.

> **Type:** area
> **For:** Anyone who runs a system that should react to platform events, with Owner permissions in the portal and a package that includes webhooks.

_All guides in this area work on this page: **Settings › Organization › Webhooks**._

## Understand

| Page | When you need it |
|---|---|
| [How is a webhook delivered?](/webhooks/about-delivery) | From the event through matching against your endpoints, signing, and sending, to a retry or disabling. |
| [What is sent and how it is retried](/webhooks/delivery-and-retries) | The request to your endpoint (method, headers, body), the states of a delivery, the retry schedule, and disabling. |

## Set up

| Page | When you need it |
|---|---|
| [Create a webhook endpoint](/webhooks/create-endpoint) | Enter an https address and the subscribed events under Settings › Organization › Webhooks, and store the signing secret safely. |
| [Verify the signature of a delivery](/webhooks/verify-signature) | Recompute HMAC-SHA256 over the raw body, compare it with X-Signature in constant time, deduplicate by X-Delivery-Id, and rotate the secret. |

## Events

| Page | When you need it |
|---|---|
| [Event types: organization, accounts, billing](/webhooks/event-types-organization) | The subscribable event types from organization, storage connections, access, accounts and delegated access, sessions, billing, and joining, with their core payload. |
| [Event types: content, programs, devices, apps](/webhooks/event-types-content-devices) | The subscribable event types from media, scenes, programs, marketplace, fleet, app runtime, playback, analytics, and advertising, plus the platform types that never arrive. |
| [Fetch the event catalog through the API](/webhooks/fetch-event-catalog) | You create endpoints from your own system or show the selection in your own interface: fetch the catalog as JSON and check a list of events before the server rejects it. |

## If something goes wrong

| Page | When you need it |
|---|---|
| [When no delivery arrives](/webhooks/troubleshooting) | Endpoint rejected, inactive after failures, no retry after a 4xx, signature does not match, duplicate deliveries, an event never occurs. |
